The Balance Between Dietary Consumption and Physical Activity of Farm Housewives


Abstract
To identify the balance between dietary consumption and physical activity of farm housewives. 100 farm housewives living in kangdongmeon, kyungjugun, kyungpook province were interviewed with a questionnaire from 10th march, to 20th April. 1991.
This survey was carried out physical activities for 24 hours and dietary consumption through 24 hours recall method with together general characteristics (age, BMI, educational level monthly family income, family type, family size etc).
The results were as follows.
Average age, monthly family income, and family size of this subject¡¯s 44.4years old. 1.201. 500won, 4.14 persons respectably.
Their average farm labour hours and domestic labour hours were 6.10hours 3.69hours, respectively. So, total labour hours of farm housewives were 9.79 hours.
The daily average food intake per 1 housewife was 1271.03g. Among daily average food intake, vegetable food and animal food were 112.62g(87.54%), 158.41g(12.46%), respectly.
Their energy expenditure and intake were 2715.56Kcal, 2420.56Kcal, respectly. So there was significantly difference between expenditure and intake of energy (p<0.01) the ratio of energy intake to emerge expenditure was 0.92. But overweight farm housewives showed unbalanced condition as 0.76.
There were significantly negative correlated with the total labour hours and educational level (r = -0293). There were significantly negative correlated with the ratio of emerge intake to energy expenditure and body mass index(r = -0.444).
